Red&Gold Football, a joint venture between FC Bayern München and Los Angeles Football Club, is committed to sustainable and responsible business practices. We stand for social responsibility and sustainability beyond our local roots. Due to our extraordinary successes in football, we have achieved enormous reputation, which obliges us to exemplify our values to the outside world. One of our very own values is to be actively involved in society. Red&Gold Football therefore has set an aim to use the beautiful game as a vehicle for change.
We are also aware of our responsibility in connection with the training of talents. In this context, Red&Gold Football benefit not only professional development, but also personal development and pedagogical training of Talents.
Our goal is to share our values with the talents we develop, both on and off the pitch, in order to prepare them for a life as a professional football player and beyond. Our holistic approach focuses on the development of the talent's personality.
To represent and pass our values to the outside world, we have imposed Corporate Governance Guidelines on ourselves and committed ourselves furthermore to supporting and applying the fundamental principles of human rights fair working conditions, environmental protection and the battle against corruption.
These Corporate Governance Guidelines not only specify the behavior to which we are committed but also what we expect from our partners in their collaboration with us.
Corporate Governance Guidelines
1. Respect for human rights / exclusion of discrimination
For us, respect for human rights is an integral part of corporate responsibility. We offer children, young people and adults a sporting home regardless of origin, skin color, faith, gender, sexual orientation and social status. We therefore expect to treat each other with respect and fairness and to create an environment that is free from any contemptuous, harassing or discriminatory behavior. To this end, we commit to resolutely oppose anti-constitutional, xenophobic and anti-democratic efforts and any other form of discriminatory or inhuman attitudes, in particular on the basis of nationality, language, religion, ethnic origin, gender, age, sexual identity, disability or trade union membership. This also applies to any form of violence, regardless of whether it is physical or mental in nature. We also expect our partners to commit themselves to respecting all internationally recognized human rights, in particular to upholding the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights as a minimum standard.
2. Compliance with laws and regulations
We undertake to comply with the laws and regulations of the countries in which we operate. The best practices of the individual industries and areas of activity must also be observed. Should legal provisions apply in some countries that deviate from the requirements of the Code of Conduct, the stricter requirements in each case must be observed.
3. Handling of young talents; FIFA, MLS and UEFA Regulations
Red&Gold Football is committed to accepting the special responsibilities of training minors and will comply with all FIFA, MLS and UEFA Regulations, especially regarding the training and transfer of minors. Any activities contrary to these regulations are strictly prohibited, and Red&Gold Football will take appropriate measures against any participant who violates this clause. All members must ensure that they have a thorough understanding of the FIFA, MLS and UEFA regulations related to the training and transfer of minors and must comply with them at all times.
4. Avoidance of conflicts of interest and fair market competitions
We commit to and expect our partners to make decisions exclusively based on objective criteria. Conflicts of interest with private or other economic activities must be avoided from the outset. Furthermore, we commit to and expect our Partners to comply with the respective national antitrust laws and thus to protect free and fair competition. Therefore, we do not tolerate agreements and concerted practices between competitors if they are aimed at or lead to preventing or restricting competition, nor do we tolerate abusive influence on value chains by playing off market power.
This includes agreements on prices, offers, customer allocations, conditions of sale or purchase, production and sales quotas as well as market sharing.
5. Sustainable business practices
Sustainable business practices are based on the interplay of economic, environmental and social values when it comes to business activities and the associated processes, services and supply chain. This includes not least products and their production. We require our Partners to comply with international human rights standards and applicable local and regional regulations as well as environmental protection laws (in particular the UN Global Compact of the United Nations, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) and the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO)) for all activities.
We demand that our corporate governance is aligned with the guiding principle of sustainable business practices. To this end, we consider investments in the renewal of processes and the adoption of innovations to increase efficiency to be indispensable. In addition, the selection of partners must be based on the criterion of sustainable business practices.
6. Prohibition of corruption and bribery
We are intensively committed to fighting corruption and bribery. Orders should only be placed in competition on product quality and prices. Therefore, we strictly prohibit our partners from tolerating corruption and bribery in any form and from participating in these in any way, directly or indirectly. Offers of money, valuables or other benefits to third parties with the aim of obtaining an order or a preferential treatment in business dealings are to be refrained from. Corresponding offers by third parties are to be rejected. This applies in particular to the state, civil servants and our employees as well as to the involvement of third parties (e.g. nominees). This does not include benefits that are within the scope of customary business practices and politeness according to regional customs.
7. Treatment of employees
You are obliged to comply with the ILO core labor standards. The core principles include in particular:
freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
elimination of forced labor
abolition of child labor
prohibition of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation
occupational health and safety
8. Protection of confidential information
We commit to and expect our Partners to secure and protect the information entrusted to them. Confidential information may only be used and disclosed to third parties in a manner authorized Red&Gold Football. Confidential information is all information about Red&Gold Football, its customers or partners that is marked as confidential or not publicly known.
9. Commitment of excellence
We are committed to excellence in all aspects of Red&Gold Football youth development program. This includes providing world-class coaching and training, state-of-the-art facilities, and top-quality education for our talents. We strive to create an environment where every talent can reach their full potential and achieve their goals. We believe that the pursuit of excellence and perseverance are essential values for success in sports and in life and are key to overcoming obstacles and achieving personal goals. We encourage our talents to set high standards for themselves, to work hard, to never give up and striving for excellence in all aspects of the game.
10. Focus on personal development and education
We prioritize the personal development of each individual talent in our program. We believe that every talent is unique and has its own strengths and weaknesses. We work closely with our talents to help them identify their strengths, develop their very own skills, and overcome their challenges. Education is a top priority for our youth development program. We believe that education is essential for personal and professional success, and we encourage our talents to pursue their academic goals, develop critical thinking skills, and become lifelong learners. All participants in the youth development program are expected to maintain a commitment to academic excellence and to participate in personal development programs offered by Red&Gold Football.
